Youghal Cine Club Announces Line-up of Season One Films

Youghal Cine Club today (16^th August 2012) announced details of its first series of screenings which will take place on a fortnightly basis (Thursdays) at 7.30 pm sharp in The Mall Arts Centre, Youghal from 30^th August to 13^th December 2012.

As this is the Cine Club’s very first season of films, organisers, Yew Wood Venues have worked closely with ‘Access Cinema Club’ (the resource organisation for regional cultural cinema in Ireland) who together agreed to curate the programme for the first season. The Club will continue a long tradition of interest in cinema in Youghal.

Speaking at the announcement ,Youghal Cine Club Co-ordinator Sinead Goggin said: “We believe we have compiled a listing that will develop our members interest in cultural cinema, and who knows, members might even get to try something a little bit different from what they may normally consider viewing! Season two of films will of course be chosen by the members of Youghal Cine Club.”

The programme sees all English language titles, with films having a broad appeal. However, included in the line-up is one documentary ‘Buck’ and one slightly more challenging title ‘Martha Marcy May Marlene’ - an excellent thriller about a girl who flees a cult.

Youghal Cine Club is supported by The Arts Office of Cork County Council, The Youghal Socio-Economic Development Group and Youghal Town Council.
